This Training Course for youth workers and unemployed young people took place at Hotel Posada del Valle, last November 2014.

28 participants of 7 different EU countries experienced new learning methods and developed skills and competences on Backpack Journalism, social media, active citizenship & sustainable community life.

And..like all our learning programs, a holistic approach inspired and nurtured us along the week.

The partner associations involved are:
Muovimente, Italy
Petrklic Help, Czech Rep.
Pandora, Hungary
TETRA, Belgium
Fundacja Laja, Poland
YES!, The Netherlands

What WE DID..

We experienced and embodied a wonderful trinity: “Head, Heart, Hands”.

This is an experiential learning method that promotes an active, balanced and creative learning process.

We work with “Head”, thinking critically through colective participation, analysis and personal reflection.

“Heart”, exploring perspectives, values, attitudes and life skills which reinforce sustainable communities.

And finally, “Hands”, learning by doing practical activities that nurture and assist our Sense of Place, Self and Community.

What is the objective?,

To inspire and motivate participants in becoming Backpack journalists, providing them with knowledge and skills to be creative sharing stories.

Thus, facilitating tools and methods that positively contribute to the employability of young people, and also promoting the inclusion of sustainable practices in non formal learning programmes.

Together, we rooted our hands in the soil and created “Backpack” projects. Creativity and social networks at work!

This project has been cofunded by the EU Commission, ERASMUS+ programme; to which we are very grateful, for its vision, its support and its promotion of non formal education.

In 2015, this project has been awarded by the EU Comission as “ERASMUS+ Good Practice Project in Training and Networking of youth Workers to Support Youth Empowerment”
